Meeting: November 27 Friday, 3:30-3:45 to hear the report of the BC Ministry team. Location: admin building conference room.
Instructions to teachers
1. Course overviews, binders, sample work, sample assessment, student displays, purpose on the board, lesson plan(s), a welcoming environment, etc should be prepared. Have two chairs and a desk (with the binder) set up at the back of your class.
2. If we can, some student work on the hallway walls, although I know we are short bulletin boards.
3. Interview times will be arranged upon their visit and wishes.
4. Remember, they are here to see the educational program and our certification as professionals. Food in the cafeteria is low priority if at all, etc; Budget issues will be handled from my office but a hint on tightness is not necessarily out of the question....however, again, they haven't much influence in this area.
The focus is on the teacher qualification, the attention to delivering the BC curriculum and the assessment and practices surrounding the learning.
5. The team will be located in Room 207 in the admin building.
6. Enjoy your students and your fine teaching. I am confident that we are in very good shape within the BC Program. We have come a long way since last year and even this year growth is evident.
